Greetings College Kayak Anglers!

We are in the last days before the 2- day College Tour Championship and we want to go over a few details.

– We hope you all have safe travels and navigating around Watts Bar.

– Practice is over at 4pm on Friday.  This means completely off the water.

– We will meet at 530pm at the event HQ- Spring City Town Council Room 229 Front Street Spring City, TN

– We will check boards, pass out IDs, and go over details for the weekend.  Meeting and gathering will last less than 45 minutes, so there is plenty of time to eat and enjoy the food in the area afterwards.

– The times have been adjusted in the event to reflect Daylight Savings Time.

– While there is not a hard-line boundary, we are only selecting ramps on the south side of the lake.  We have added a couple of ramps over the coming days so make sure to refresh your map link when looking at it.  Anglers must launch and land from a published ramp.

Hobie Bass Open Series Anchored by Power Pole: College Tour Championship!

Any Angler that has fished with us during the 2023 season is eligible to participate in this event.

Headquarters: Spring City Town Council Room 229 Front Street Spring City, TN

Schedule:

10/28- Practice rules and expectations begin. Only fishing out of a kayak, Motors are allowed for practice only.

11/1 – 6pm Registration is closed.

11/3 – 4pm Practice is over.

5:30 pm – Angler to attend meeting at the event HQ.  Bring metal Ketch board to get checked.  Day 1 and Day 2 ID distribution will occur after a brief meeting.

11/4 – Day 1

7:30am Pedal/ Paddle Off from designated launches

8 am First Cast

4:01 pm Fishing concludes (Anglers can no longer fish/ scout or strategically graph on tournament waters)

4:30 pm Submission Deadline

5:30 pm – Facebook Live meeting to recap Day 1 and announce details for Day 2.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME-  Turn Clocks Back 1 hour

11/5 – Day 2

6:30am Pedal/ Paddle Off from designated launches

7am First Cast

3:01pm Fishing Concludes

3:30pm Submission Deadline

5 pm Championship and Series awards.

This is a Metal Ketch board series.  Boards will get checked before the event begins.

Anglers can fish any portion of the lake that they can access from a legal launch that is published on this lake map.  We will only be utilizing a specific portion of the lake, No ramps further up lake/ river will be added.

LAUNCH MAP

This map is live and active. If any of the above ramps are not open to the public, please let your TD know ASAP.  We have tried to confirm all spots but the conditions can vary day to day.  If a ramp is deemed closed or not public, it will get removed from the list.   We will also be able to evaluate and potentially add ramp suggestions, but they must be submitted to the TD by Nov 2nd.

College Tour Details:

The 2023 College Tour will consist of 4, 1-day events and a 2 day championship.

These events are open to any collegiate angler fishing out of an approved kayak/ vessel.

The first 3 events will coincide with Day 1 of a Hobie BOS event.  Anglers are allowed and encouraged to compete in both.  The college awards will take place on Sunday, prior to the BOS awards.

Tour Events-

College Tour Events will be a single day 5-fish event.

Entry Fee will be $75 per angler. Payouts will be based on attendance and money will be awarded to the angler/ school with a direct deposit within 30 days. $5 goes to Tourney X, 100% of the remaining pot goes towards payout.

Top 5 Placing anglers will earn ‘College of the Year’ points for their school.

College Tour Championship Details:

The Championship will be a 2-day event, anglers will submit their best 5 fish each day.

Entry Fee will be $125 per angler. Payouts will be based on attendance and money will be awarded to the angler/ school with a direct deposit.  $5 goes to Tourney X, 100% of the remaining pot goes towards payout. Payouts will be paid out for every 8 Anglers +1.  For example: 1-7 Anglers (1 place) 8- 15 Anglers- 2 places, 16-23 Anglers- 3 places…

To be eligible for the Championship, anglers must participate in at least one open event during the 2023 season.

BOS College of the Year-

College of the year points will be eligible at each event on a 5 point scale per an anglers’ finish. There will be a .5 bonus awards to Big Bass, all anglers earn bonus if there is a tie.

1st – 5 points for school

2nd- 4 points

3rd – 3 points

4th – 2 points

5th- 1 point

YAKGEAR Big Bass- .5 point

Teams will take their best 3 Open event point totals and their Championship point total for their season total.

College of the year awards will be:

1st place- Hobie Pro Angler 14 180 (Up to a $4949.00 value)

2nd place – Hobie Outback (Up to $3799 value)

Prizes will be awarded on site at the College Championship.
