The Hobie BOS announced last night that we will be evolving this season after only running human powered events in all of our companies’ categories for decades, to allowing motors in many, but not all, of our events in 2024.
We do feel that while change and evolution is happening all around us and especially in this space, it is necessary for us to still have some strategic “human powered only” events in this transition year for the folks that still want to compete without motors and that were an important part of our series and growth. These events were carefully selected for a variety of reasons.
There will not be a debate, just this announcement for clarity. Electric motors are allowed in practice for all events. Dual motor power will not be allowed in competition.
Registration Opens for the first 2 events this Thursday at Noon est.
