Hobie Bass Open Series Toledo Bend

January 27, 2022: Toledo Bend- Amazing we have reached the event cap of 200 angler in record time!

Reaching the 200-angler capacity for the first two events of 2022 is a major milestone for our series. We simply wouldn’t be able to attain that without all of you. The anglers support of this series has always been tremendous, but you all took it to another level with registering early, sharing your excitement of the event, and creating a countdown as we inched closer to 200 anglers, our largest event ever.

We made a cap on our series when we started it 4 years ago to ensure that all of our anglers would have a top-notch experience when they show up to our events. Covid protocols changed our offering a bit over the last 2 years, but with communication within the event, consistent direction, incredible support from Hobie and sponsors and accommodating venues we have done the best we could with the hand we were dealt. This year, as communities allow, we look forward to getting back on track and bringing folks together to enjoy the camaraderie of this series.

I encourage all of you to continue sharing and promoting the events you participate in. Helping gain awareness of events and series, grass roots or nationally, will only allow payouts to get larger and opportunities to get bigger. And for me personally, as your director, it’s the biggest sign of appreciation you could ever show. I can’t thank you all enough.

2022 is going to be something special in the world of kayak fishing and it’s all for you and because of you.

If you want to get on the waiting list, please email BOS@Hobie.com.

The first stop of the Hobie Bass Open Series Anchored by Power-Pole, takes us to Many, LA and the famed Toledo Bend. This reservoir of the Sabine River boasts over 1,200 miles of shoreline and any type of structure someone may want to fish.  Known for standing timber and submerged vegetation this powerhouse fishery has the reputation to produce giant bass and record breaking 5-fish limits. With so much water that is optimally accessed by kayaks, this early season bout points to an epic start to the year you won’t want to miss.

The 200 Anglers will be competing for a cash payout to 10% of the field, and the top 3 non- qualified anglers will earn their spot in the 2022 Tournament of Champions (TOC) on Caddo Lake Nov 11-13 in Shreveport- Bossier City, LA.
